Each Tuesday, my brother-in-law Joe and I look at the newest Foothill listings on Broker’s Caravan day for La Canada and La Crescenta. It’s a tough real estate market for home buyers; well priced homes are selling quickly and often over asking price. Some weeks the listings seem to be either horrible or overpriced.
The home I selected for the La Canada home of the week is 3959 Madison Rd. It’s a small (1648 sq ft) mid-century on a nearly 20,000 level lot, with outdoor kitchen, fireplace, garden and views. It’s perfect for one or two people to embrace California’s enviable indoor outdoor lifestyle.
MLS remarks read: (typos/grammar not mine) “A rare offering in the Flintridge Hills just under one half acre mostly flat! This home has not been offered for sale to the public for many years, add on or build new on this amazing lot with stunning views of the mountains and city lights. Located on a very quite street behind gates the home is totally private. The existing home has been remodeled and updated by the current owners with exquisite details. Walls of glass bring in the light and views. The property has a very large pool grassy lawns and a complete outdoor kitchen and fireplace”.
