I love the simplicity of mid-century architecture. I just listed 1803 Fairmount Ave in La Canada. Jack Simison, a well-known and respected local architect, designed this amazing example of mid-century architecture.

Simison’s most well-known local work is the La Canada County Club clubhouse featured in a 1964 issue of Architectural Digest. Several of his commercial buildings, La Canada Pet Clinic and Armstrong Nursery are some of my favorites.  In 1966, Simison devised the first schematic of what was to become the pedestrian-friendly Montrose shopping park.  He was a nature lover, evidenced by each of his designs being creative, warm, and inviting.
