Ideally you have been planning the financial aspect of retirement for years. Deciding where to live is another matter. Obviously the amount of equity in your home will impact where you relocate. The good news is that Southern California real estate values are at an all-time high. So, how do you plan your retirement move?
But where to move? I have many clients who have retired and relocated to a variety of locations, such as Sequim, Edmonds, Bermuda Dunes, Prescott, Henderson, Apple Valley, Indio, Hilton Head, Monterey, Folsom and Seal Beach. My clients are lovely and most will be happy to give you the “411” on their new location.
Or if you have friends who have moved, go for a visit, and personally check out the different destinations. Most of my clients have been happy with their new location, but not all of them. Downsizing and staying local is another option. Checking out a new area by renting for awhile is another plan and allows you a leisurely search for your new home.
Moving is never an easy decision, but moving out of Southern California can be daunting. As a Senior’s Real Estate Specialist (SRES). I have been specifically trained and qualified to address the real estate needs of those age 50+. I am fully aware that their home is likely their largest asset. I have been trained to bring a unique approach to each transaction and interaction with my clients.
If you are thinking of selling your home and retiring, call me and let me assist you in strategizing your move.
