Preparing your home for sale? Perhaps you have already planted some flowers and decluttered. The primary missing ingredient is selecting the right real estate agent. Because it doesn’t cost the home seller more, I advocate hiring your Realtor before sprucing your home for sale, but that’s another blog post.
Whether buying or selling, the luck of the Irish has nothing to do with selecting the right Realtor. Do your homework, check online reviews, ask friends and relatives for referrals, and visit open houses. It’s likely best not to hire a Realtor because they knocked on your door or “cold called” you. Experienced real estate agents should have developed a network of past clients who refer friends and family. You should be suspect of any Realtor who has been in the business for more than a few years and has to rely on door knocking or “cold calling” to find clients. And why hire someone without experience?
