Los Angeles, CA (January 2026)—SoCal Museums announced today that this year’s Museums Free-for-All, which celebrates free arts and culture in Southern California, will take place on Sunday, February 22, 2026. From Santa Barbara to Orange County to Palm Springs, cultural institutions welcome audiences for this region-wide tradition presenting art, design, cultural heritage, film, natural history, science, political history and more.“For more than twenty years, SoCal Museums members have come together annually to collectively open our doors and welcome the public,” says Cristian Hamilton, President of SoCal Museums and Vice President of Advancement, Autry Museum of the American West. “We believe arts and culture should be accessible to everyone, and Museums Free-for-All has become a community touchstone. Los Angeles Weekend

La Canada, La Crescenta, Montrose & Tujunga

CVHS annual Jazz Night at the Cafe is this Friday night at 7pm. The dance will be held at the CVHS Café, located on the corner of Glenwood Avenue and Prospect Avenue. Jazz Night is an important annual event that serves as both a gig for the jazz band members and a fundraiser for CVIM. Event proceeds are dedicated toward the purchase of instruments, repairs to existing instruments and travel costs to gigs for the band. 

The second annual Prom Plus pancake breakfast will be held on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m at St. Luke’s of the Mountains Episcopal Church, 2563 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta. Prom Plus has been supporting youth at Crescenta Valley High School (CVHS) at its after-prom program for over three decades. A few years ago it looked like Prom Plus would be holding its last after-prom party due to lack of volunteers; however, CV parents stepped up and kept the iconic program going.

This Sunday, at 4:30 pm, Village Poets of Sunland-Tujunga will feature renowned poet Ron Koertge at Bolton Hall Museum. In the last 40+ years, he has written many books for young readers and won two PEN awards. His most recent books are co-authored with Gary Schmidt:  A Day at the Beach and Styx & Stones, a fantasy novel due out this spring. 10110 Commerce, Tujunga

Presented by Melting Pot Food Tours, this guided walk explores hidden alleys and historic streets in search of delicious multicultural bites and sweet treats. Saturday is “House Music” at Moonlight Rollerway, 5110 San Fernando Road, Glendale, from 8 to 11 p.m.

Wine tastings every weekend at Rosso Wine Shop. The general theme is “Try Three Wines for $12.” To start, enjoy a white wine, then move on to two reds. Typically, the middle wine is lighter to medium-bodied, followed by a heavier selection to round out the tasting. Meanwhile, new wines are poured each weekend, keeping the experience fresh and exciting. Join in one of L.A.’s oldest traditions at the 127th annual Golden Dragon Parade. Celebrate Lunar New Year  Saturday from 1–4 PM with a vibrant parade winding through Chinatown in Los Angeles. The colorful procession of lion dancers, cultural dance troupes, music groups, and festive performers will begin at Hill Street & Temple, travel toward Bernard, continue onto Broadway, and return to Broadway & Temple — filling the neighborhood with energy and tradition. The parade also coincides with the free Lunar New Year Festival at Chinatown Central Plaza, where guests can enjoy cultural activities, entertainment, and community celebrations throughout the afternoon.  Chinatown Central Plaza, 943 N Broadway, Los Angeles
