In 2013, my most significant difficulty was getting my listings appraised for what the buyer agreed to pay. But the real estate tide has turned. Appraisers now believe your home is worth more than you do and so do I! I spoke with a client who had just received her property tax bill not long ago. She was shocked by the value the assessor assigned to her home. It seemed far too low. In reality, her home was worth several hundred thousand dollars more. Moments like this are always eye-opening. It’s so much more rewarding when potential sellers discover the real value of their home—and it’s much higher than expected. Their excitement is contagious. It’s one of the best parts of my job.
