From Core Logic: “Homeownership remains an important part of the American dream. Our research found that being a homeowner makes consumers feel safe. Renters want something to call their own. However, until affordability returns, renters will have difficulty purchasing a home.”
The American Dream: Why Homeownership Matters
Homeownership is a key part of the American dream. It symbolizes stability and success. CoreLogic’s research shows homeowners feel safer and more secure. Owning a home offers a sense of permanence and personal achievement. Renters want to own a home—a place to call their own. But affordability is a major obstacle. Rising home prices and high interest rates make it difficult to buy. Until housing becomes more affordable, many renters will struggle. For now, homeownership remains out of reach for many. However, it’s still a goal worth working toward as market conditions improve.
