La Crescenta Housing Market Update February 2019:
Eleven La Crescenta homes (91214 zip) closed escrow last month. Prices ranged from a two-bedroom, one-bathroom, 867 sq ft home on Altura Ave. sold for $685,000, and a three-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,666 sq ft home on Rosemont Ave. sold for $1,131,000. Four of these homes sold for over the asking price. Only one of these La Crescenta sales had a price reduction before selling. Seven sold for less than the original asking price.
From Core Logic: “Homeownership remains an important part of the American dream. Our research found that being a homeowner makes consumers feel safe. Renters want something to call their own. However, until affordability returns, renters will have difficulty purchasing a home.”

Rising home prices and high interest rates make it difficult to buy. Until housing becomes more affordable, many renters will struggle. For now, homeownership remains out of reach for many. However, it’s still a goal worth working toward as market conditions improve.
