Most everyone is interested in trending real estate news. Here are some of my favorite real estate news items:

*Nearly 10% of all American households rent storage space. So, what are Americans storing in all this space? “I store out-of-season items like boots, coats, comforters, and blankets in the space,” says Kessler. But that’s not all. “I have a lot of things from my deceased grandmother that my heart won’t let me give away. I also store sentimental things like my beaten-up childhood stuffed Panda bear and Girl Scout uniform. These are items that I don’t want to give away, but I prefer an organized, clutter-free home,” she says.

*Why homes are getting smaller: Whether you are a first-time home buyer or a downsizing retiree, there is a definite trend toward people buying and building smaller homes.  It’s a fact, houses are getting smaller. It seems there is a new world-view developing—people are shunning the ideals of bigger is better in exchange for a more modest lifestyle,  despite what is in their pocketbooks.

*The National Association of Realtors estimated that Chinese citizens bought $22 billion worth of homes in the United States in the 12 months ending in March. Because of direct flights from southern California and China S. California is their favorite destination.
