Silent Auction Time – Realtor Downtime

So much of a realtor’s day is waiting. Thus, Kris and I volunteer in our La Canada community. We work on the first Silent Auction of the Year for the Italian Catholic Federation. On March 19, we celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph at St. Bede Church in La Canada. There will be a bake sale with homemade sauce and baked goods. And our Auction. Most of the proceeds go to a variety of charities, including scholarships.

Silent Auction time begins in October. That’s when we begin our solicitations. As Kris and I work in the office together Monday through Friday, we often break for lunch. We then solicit the restaurant for a gift card each time we dine out. Therefore, we have numerous local restaurant gift cards for our auction. But we also have a variety of other items, from Skypark Santa’s Village to an MGM getaway.

And this week, we have wrapped up the bid sheets and the baskets. It’s going to be a great silent auction.

Please join us on March 19 at St. Bede Parish Hall, located at 215 Foothill Blvd. Hours are 8 AM – until 1 PM.

We have become so proficient at this that one year a parishioner asked Kris if we were a professional company that did this. Kris is on the Marketing Committee for the Tournament of Roses Float Committee; we plan to do a second Auction for them this year.
