National Spaghetti Day

I love spaghetti, and my grandmother made the best meatballs and spaghetti sauce.  Fortunately, she taught me and three or four times a year, I prepare an enormous batch.  I don’t love to cook, but I appreciate great food; it takes two days to make the meatballs and prepare the sauce (I cook this about 6-8 hours).

Celebrate National Spaghetti Day this Saturday, January 4th, either at home or one of my favorite Italian restaurants in and around Los Angeles:

1)    Celestino in Pasadena

2)    il Pastaio  (I meet my girlfriend from Rome here once a year – it’s our annual luncheon spot)

3)    Drago in Downtown Los Angeles   – Downtown is closer than you think; I have another girlfriend who works Downtown, and this is another great spot for us to meet.

4)    Café Sole in La Canada

5)    Trattoria Amici at Glendale’s Americana at Brand
