La Canada, La Crescenta, Montrose & Tujunga

La Canada’s Annual Festival of Lights, Friday, December 5, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Park. The event features live reindeer, festive holiday music, and a special appearance from Mr. and Mrs. Claus, creating a magical evening for families and friends.

47th Annual Montrose-Glendale Christmas Parade, Saturday at 6:10 pm. Very much a family-focused parade, more than 150 community service and youth groups, drill teams, and bands from the surrounding cities participate in the parade each year. We have the unique honor of a fly-by with Santa Claus in one of Glendale’s finest Police helicopters.

Chili Bowl Festival Saturday and Sunday. Several varieties of chili will be available, including vegetarian options. Chili bowls are made at the McGroarty Arts Center by a variety of local artists, students, and volunteers— they are truly something special, and each bowl is unique.  7570 McGroarty Terrace, Tujunga, CA 91042

Holiday at Stone Barn – A  family-oriented evening of holiday entertainment in the Stone Barn Nature Center in Deukmejian Wilderness Park. Enjoy hot chocolate and cookies.  Seating is limited.  RSVP required. 3429 Markridge Rd, Glendale

‘Tis the season in  Old Town Montrose for festive Christmas activities! Experience the charm of an old-fashioned holiday as their family-owned shops are beautifully decorated for the season, offering unique gifts for everyone on your list—kids, pets, family, and friends. Wine tastings every weekend at Rosso Wine Shop. The general theme is “Try Three Wines for $12.” Begin with a white wine, and then move on to two reds. Typically, the middle wine is lighter to medium-bodied, followed by a heavier wine. New wines are poured each weekend.
