Los Angeles Weekend

La Canada, La Crescenta, & Montrose

Saturday and Sunday is the 41st Annual Montrose Arts & Crafts Festival – More than 270 fine artists, crafters, food vendors, California Certified farmers, musicians, and entertainers will make their way to Montrose on festival weekend. Some vendors come from as far away as Arizona and Nevada. The festival draws visitors from far and wide with a fantastic array of handmade crafts, jewelry, fine art, textiles, flowers, and more. Festival booths are located in the 2200, 2300, and 2400 blocks of Honolulu, and the Montrose Harvest Market (Sunday only) is situated on Oceanview Boulevard.

Music in the Park concert series. Join family, friends, and neighbors for free music evenings at Memorial Park at 1301 Foothill Boulevard. Bring a picnic basket and enjoy the live music. Concerts are on Sundays at 6:00 PM.

Mark your calendar. The Beach Bus will run from June 10th to September 1st, departing from La Canada and La Crescenta.

Altadena, Pasadena, San Gabriel, & Arcadia

SoCal Gaming Expo is known for its massive vendor marketplace, esports competitions, free play arcade and gaming area, cosplay, museum exhibits, and special guests, including voice actors, industry guests, and YouTubers. The marketplace has hundreds of vendors selling video games, collectibles, anime, and more. Friday through Sunday at the Pasadena Convention Center, 300 E. Green St., Pasadena

Pasadena-based Tail Town Cat Café Carnival of Cats Saturday. The free, family-friendly event will be a purr party featuring 30-40 free roaming rescue cats plus fun games like kitty bingo, cat Trivia, cat cornhole and meow n paint. Guests can also have their fortunes read and play carnival-style games, enjoy refreshments, help with cat socialization, make new feline friends, and more. It’s free to attend, but requires an advanced reservation based on 30-minute slots. 1780 E Washington Blvd., Pasadena

Norton Simon Museum Enjoy free admission for all visitors on the first Friday of the month from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Bring your friends or family and enjoy free entrance to the galleries and garden. No reservations or advance tickets necessary. 411 West Colorado Boulevard, Pasadena

Experience Kidspace Children’s Museum for free! Visitors are invited to join the fun for free on the first Friday of every month from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Reservations are required. Tickets are released approximately 2 weeks before the date of visit. 480 N. Arroyo Blvd., Pasadena

Rose Bowl Flea Market this Sunday. Vintage treasure hunters and bargain seekers flock to the legendary Rose Bowl Flea Market. The Lineage Performing Arts Center presents Jonathan Larson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Rent through June 8th. A celebration of love, resilience, and the power of community. Friday night, R&B at Moonlight Rollerway, 5110 San Fernando Road, Glendale, from 8 to 11 p.m.

Wine tastings every weekend at Rosso Wine Shop. The general theme is “Try Three Wines for $12.” Begin with a white and then move on to two reds; typically, the middle wine is lighter-to-medium-bodied, and then end with a heavier wine. Downtown Burbank Cultural Market. This unique outdoor market occurs every Friday and Saturday from 5:00-9:30 pm and Sunday from 3:00-8:00 pm at the corner of Palm Avenue and San Fernando Blvd. on the AMC walkway in Downtown Burbank.
