Whats New in the Neighborhood: The Italian Deli

Kris and I recently dined at The Italian Deli on Washington Boulevard in Pasadena. It was our first time there, so we started with a few appetizers—arancini, meatballs, and Brussels sprouts. An unusual mix, but we wanted a taste of different things. Everything turned out better than expected.

The meatballs were tender and full of flavor. I usually pair them with garlic, but the cheesy filling made them stand out on their own. The arancini were golden and crispy on the outside, creamy and rich inside. Definitely comfort food done right. The Brussels sprouts surprised us the most—perfectly roasted, with just the right amount of char and seasoning. We finished every bite.

The vibe inside was casual but lively, with friendly staff and a steady flow of locals. Their menu is large, offering everything from sandwiches to pastas. I’m already planning to return to the Italian Deli and try one of the pasta entrées next time.

Parking was also a breeze. There’s plenty of free, unmetered street parking nearby, which made the visit even more convenient.
