how the holidays impact Los Angeles Real Estate

Holidays impact Los Angeles real estate and Realtors.

After a busy year listing and selling homes, I am experiencing the typical holiday slowdown. Fewer listings that meet my buyer’s needs are coming on the market. My listing at 5350 Jessen Drive in La, Canada, is getting shown frequently. As many home sellers take their homes off the market during the holidays, those that continue to keep their homes available for showings experience an uptick due to a lack of inventory.

I was fortunate to have time to prepare my Thanksgiving feast for my family. Some of us Realtors use this time to plan for the New Year. This quiet time is ideal for revamping our marketing – I am working on a new website. Last week I took a real estate seminar at my former brokerage (Prudential, now Hall and Chambers).

The holidays typically impact Los Angeles real estate and Realtors. Other real estate agents chose to pack it in for the holidays. I once was in escrow with a real estate agent who told me he took the month of December off. This was problematic as we were scheduled to close the first week of January, but that’s another blog post.  Phyllis and the team are working through the holidays. We are only a phone call or email away if you need real estate assistance.

If you are a home buyer, be patient; new listings are just around the corner. You have waited this long; don’t panic, and don’t settle. If you are a home seller, call me, and let’s meet and discuss a game plan. You can consult with my home stylist (no charge) and get a punch list of inexpensive, easy fix-its that will get you a great return on your time and money. You might decide to have a pre-inspection and make some repairs.
