A Realtor’s week

Each week in a Realtor’s life is different. The last two weeks at Harb & Co. have been quiet. But we are busy preparing three listings for sale. Two should be coming on the market in June.

A Realtor's week

Past clients referred two of those three listings to me. There are two types of real estate agents. Transaction-oriented agents purchase leads online or do massive mail outs in the hopes a potential client will call. I prefer to stay in touch with past clients and provide support long after escrow has closed. By doing so, many of my clients refer their friends and family to me.

I am working on another listing that isn’t yet signed. And last week I went on a listing appointment that I wasn’t excited about. It was a lovely character home that had been remodeled. During the remodel most of the charm was removed. We all have different taste, but I hate to see an architecturally significant home changed in a way not keeping with the style. This five bedroom home also had very little back yard. It was previously listed with another Realtor and in my opinion was overpriced by three hundred thousand dollars.

There are two major components to selling your home for the highest price.

The first is properly pricing your home to sell. This positions you for a bidding war. The second component is preparing your home for sale. Pre-inspections have been completed on my two listings coming in June. And repairs are in the works. The inspector will reinspect after repairs are made, resulting in a cleaner home inspection report.

Because of new coming soon restrictions I can’t yet discuss more details on the new listings, so stay tuned! Once I have photos they will be listed in the multiple listing service.
