La Canada Farmer’s Market Fans – there is a new vendor. The sandwich guy! He is near the Italian booth. The bread is delicious, and the sandwiches are the best I have ever had outside of Langers or Brent’s Deli.

Memorial Day weekend brings great excitement to residents and visitors as the community comes together in La Canada Flintridge to celebrate, remember, and show respect. The city hosts Fiesta Days over the holiday weekend, featuring a full lineup of events, including a 5K run, a classic car show, an outdoor movie night, music in the park, a patriotic parade, and a fireworks show. Residents and neighbors gather each year to celebrate the community’s heritage and to kick off the summer season together.

Old Pasadena Food Tasting Walking Tour every Saturday and Sunday. Presented by Melting Pot Food Tours, this guided walk explores hidden alleys and historic streets in search of delicious multicultural bites and sweet treats. Hop on the free weekend shuttle, the Wander the Wilderness Bus, which provides direct service from South Glendale to Deukmejian Wilderness Park. Once you arrive, you can explore at your own pace: hike scenic trails, go birdwatching, enjoy a picnic, or step into local history at the nearby 100-year-old Stone Barn Nature Center. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM, making it easy for families and visitors of all ages to enjoy a flexible outdoor adventure right from Glendale.

Moonlight Rollerway, a beloved local landmark that has been rolling since the 1950s. Wine tastings every weekend at Rosso Wine Shop. The general theme is “Try Three Wines for $12.” Start with a white wine, then move on to two reds. Typically, the second wine is light to medium-bodied, followed by a fuller selection to finish the tasting. Meanwhile, new wines are featured each weekend, which keeps the experience fresh. Guests can also order wine by the glass or choose from a variety of beers. The tasting takes place at 3459 N. Verdugo Rd. in Glendale.

Downtown Burbank Cultural Market. This unique outdoor market takes place every Friday and Saturday from 5:00 to 9:30 PM and Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the corner of Palm Avenue and San Fernando Boulevard, along the AMC walkway in Downtown Burbank.

Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind, Yoko Ono brings her first solo museum exhibition in Southern California to The Broad, organized in collaboration with Tate Modern. Opening this Saturday, Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind invites visitors to actively participate in many of Ono’s works. The exhibition turns simple actions into expressions of peace, hope, and connection. On East West Bank Plaza, The Broad’s olive trees become Wish Trees for Los Angeles. First presented in 1996 at Shoshana Wayne Gallery, the installation encourages visitors to write down their wishes and tie them to the tree branches, creating a living symbol of hope for Los Angeles. L.A. County Fair returns to Pomona for an enormous assortment of activities, musical performances, food and beverage offerings, and more. The fair continues through the month. 1101 W. McKinley Ave., Pomona

Street Food Cinema Saturday, head to Los Angeles State Historic Park for an outdoor screening of Pirates of the Caribbean, paired with live entertainment and food. The evening opens with a live set from Featherborn, a new rock/alternative band featuring Scott Underwood of Train, marking their Los Angeles debut. Comedian Justin Rupple hosts the night’s programming and keeps the energy moving. Guests can enjoy a curated lineup of popular food trucks, including Salt N’ Pepper, Westside Bhanmi, The Falafel Factory, Lupita’s Tacos, Buddyz Smash Burger, and Bittiebitez Mini Donuts. Griffith Park Attractions: Explore hands-on exhibits, step into the planetarium, and take in sweeping views from Downtown to the Pacific. Head down the hill to Travel Town Museum and climb aboard historic trains. Then, wander through the Los Angeles Zoo. Finally, ride miniature trains through wooded tracks at the charming Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum—yes, adults fit (barely), and it’s worth it.
