Honeybird in La Canada is now open seven days a week. They have added pastrami sandwiches to their menu. Kris and I can’t wait to try one!

La Canada Spring Home Tour – Friday starting at 9:30 a.m. This community event is the largest LCHS 7/8 and 9-12 PTA fundraiser. View four spectacular homes, each selected for its unique architectural style and inspirational design. The day’s events will include the all-day Marketplace and an Evening Reception to be held outdoors at two additional beautiful homes.

Trees Talk Exhibition at Descanso Gardens through June 2, 10 am–4 pm daily. Trees Talk explores the hidden network that allows trees to communicate with one another. This beguiling exhibition showcases touchable and interactive elements, drawing on actual wood taken from oaks that tragically fell during a severe storm in 2023. Visitors can investigate acorn sprouts that show how roots develop as an oak tree grows and examine intriguing fungal entanglement. Trees Talk is open at the Sturt Haaga Gallery.

Jackalope Art Festival a unique, curated shopping experience featuring the top trendsetting makers & designers of local goods with free admission. The Eclectic Saturday a day and evening of fun. It’s a non-profit, community event that is produced by the South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, with support from the City of South Pasadena, our sponsors and many volunteers. The Eclectic welcomes everyone.

34th Annual Bungalow Heaven – Sunday 10 am-4 pm walking tour of historic homes with insightful commentary about the homes’ architectural details and history.

Riverwalk Workday – Spend the morning working next to the Los Angeles River on the City of Glendale’s Riverwalk. Volunteers are needed to help us remove invasive plants from the landscaped areas along the L.A. River. Wear sturdy shoes, protective clothing, and bring water. Tools and gloves are provided. Families, individuals, clubs, and students needing community service hours are welcome. Event cancelled when raining.

Cherry Blossom Festival  The 24th annual Cherry Blossom Festival will be hosted in Monterey Park on April 27 and 28th. The City of Monterey Park, Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates Japanese and Japanese American culture by showcasing a wide array of traditional and contemporary arts, influences and issues. The festival features art and craft sales, taiko drum and Japanese dance performances, martial arts and cultural demonstrations, community exhibits and delicious food. Thousands of people from throughout Southern California and beyond attend the two days of festivities.

The Petersen Automotive Museum has an Escape Room Friday, participants will mysteriously be locked in, and the only way out is to unravel the puzzles and uncover the museum’s secrets.
