Just in time for the warm weather, Bruster’s Ice Cream is in the La Canada Town Center. Kris and I went several weeks ago. The ice cream is delicious. How does it compare to Handels? I had the rocky road, which Handels does not offer. Bruster’s Real Ice Cream and Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream are actually pretty similar at a high level—they both lean into small-batch, made-fresh daily ice cream—but there are some noticeable differences:
Bruster’s flavors are classic, with a rotating menu that keeps things interesting. Handel’s, on the other hand, portions are famously huge, and the flavors often feel more indulgent. Some of their options—like Graham Central Station or their peanut butter-heavy flavors—can feel heavier and more decadent than what you’d get at Bruster’s.

Being in the Town Center, I think the parking is better at Handels. It seems the Home Goods and Target shoppers take most of the parking at the Town Center. Also, Handels has more employees, while at Brusters, just one guy was helping behind the counter. If I had to wait too long for ice cream
