What’s New in the Neighborhood | 2024 La Canada Rose Parade Float

Merry Christmas! Here is what’s new in the neighborhood of La Canada. The construction of the 2024 LCF Rose Parade Float is underway beneath the bridge at 4520 Hampton Road, located at the intersection of Foothill Blvd. and Hampton Rd. Yesterday, we delivered the float, which will remain there until December 31st. Volunteers are set to begin decorating on December 26th, and the Rose Parade Committee will conduct judging on December 31st. After judging, we will relocate the float to the starting point of the parade route in Pasadena. Our own Kris Jardino will be out there as she is one of the volunteers with this community-based organization.

Discover the La Canada Flintridge Rose Parade Float. This non-profit is known for dazzling floats at the Pasadena Rose Parade every New Year’s Day. A remarkable journey unfolds, taking over a year and involving thousands of volunteer hours. Operating within an open community, the organization welcomes all ages. It offers opportunities to learn Design-Research-Engineering-Art-Maker (DREAM) skills. This collaborative effort fosters community as participants contribute to float creation, teaching skills like welding, CAD, design, fabrication, and more.

Remarkably, the La Canada Flintridge Rose Parade Float relies solely on donations. Every raised dollar goes directly to the program, covering materials and equipment costs. This commitment reflects dedication to building not just a float but also a community and a future. As the float takes center stage each New Year’s Day, imparted skills extend beyond the parade. From welding to project management, these skills prepare individuals for opportunities. The televised spectacle becomes a testament to the innovation and artistry within the community.

Join the year-round journey and welcome each New Year with newfound inspiration. La Canada Flintridge Tournament of Roses invites you to join their mission—build a float, foster a community, and shape a future.
